Re: Symantec Backup Exec 2012 problems It is certainly a big change from previous versions, but a worthwhile one once you get used to it. Moving from a job centric view to a server centric one is a bit like moving from imperial to metric. When trying to view a selection list in Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 you’re getting a grayed out “All Resources” option with “Connection with server failed. Hit to retry.” in the navigation pane. 'From Backup Exec console Click Network -> Logon Account, ensure that a System Logon Account is present. If not create a System Logon Account by clicking the System Account button.' This will be your main account settings in BE, in the options menu for the application, where you would the primary service account/login. The OS is Windows 2008R2 SP1 and the App is Symantec Backup Exec 2012 SP1. LogonUser failed: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested.

Recently my backup jobs started failing due to credentials issues, though there has been no change in the credentials themselves. Initially BE has used the Domain Admin account as its System Logon account and has worked fine up until recently. I have attempted to re-enter the credentials to no avail, testing the creds still fail out. I have followed the KB article to no avail. which includes restarting services etc. I know its popular to just say 'Get another Solution' but, given that it is currently not an option, has anyone ran into this before?
